My home compared to a Wharepuni
This week I have compared my home to a Wharepuni. The results came out common but that is okay... So what I thought was different was that our new homes our newer and modern but a wharepuni is a bit more damp and not as modern. Another thing I noticed was it was not made of brick but sticks and stones. Our house is better then Wharepuni homes because its where everything we know is safe where as a Wharepuni is where people rest the night then go.

Waka Ama
This week I have finished the bonus activity Waka Ama. The task was to write about if you would like to be in Waka Ama or not. I would love to be in the Waka Ama Race because its great for your body and gives you a real workout. Another thing is that its summer and its all hot so it would be good to get out side in the water and get some lovely fresh air. Waka Ama is a racing kind of thing were you use a waka to get to the other side by paddling too. This really taught me heaps because this is my first time hearing about Waka Ama.

My journey to New Zealand
This week I have blogged my letter about my journey to New Zealand. I have made a poster or letter about how I felt about setting sail to another country. If I traveled to New Zealand then I would feel sad about leaving my family behind leaving all my friends and feeling terrified on the way to New Zealand. The task was to write about how you would feel about travelling to New Zealand. If this really happened I would feel lots of emotions, most of them would be scared, sad, terrified and worried. I visualized me travelling on the pacific ocean just hopping not to drown... But I hope you like my letter! Also we had to write this to a friend or family member.

Summer learning journey
This week I have started on the summer learning journey. I have learnt that Maui may be connected with the world depending on what happens. Our task was to make a google draw and write three facts about Maui. What do you find interesting about him? Well there is many stories about Maui and his amazing adventures. One of the them is Maui and the giant fish. The fish that Maui caught looked so similar to the top of New Zealand. The story started where Maui wanted to go fishing with his brothers and become a top fisherman and catch many fish. Although his brothers would always think of a excuse to drive Maui into not coming and understanding what they said. But Maui never gave up and one night he made a fishing rod of his own and went out in the morning. Then at that very moment when his brothers went out fishing Maui caught a huge fish just like the size of the top of New Zealand... So you see Maui is a very special man and is known for his great adventures!

That's my money!
This week Mr Wong's maths group has a task to do where you have to collect money to pay rent, income tax,Insurance,Lotto tickets / Optional and much more other than that. To earn money you have to play protect,Make a visual DLO, Make a daily facts sheet, Protect above, Protect bellow and protect but times table version. Ways to lose money is to pay rent,Insurance, Income taxes and lotto tickets. This really makes us work harder to get more money then to be in the negatives... We will be doing this activity for two weeks and we will all see the results of all our money or to see if we are in the negatives...

Broly and Umm & Florb
A Giant slug who roamed the city had found two homeless aliens who needed help... Broly the slug had no where to go so Umm and Florb took him in. One day Umm and Florb heard a loud crash and saw broly had lost it as he was just smashing the city. Umm had no other choice but to go in the future and get help from there future self. When all four returned Umm and Florb from the future had used a magic spell only masters could use they took broly to another relm for the sake of the earth...

Our daily news name is called Statistical news. Each person had a subject to do, Fui / Inter National news, Aung Naing and Mojtaba / Sports report, Viliami / Business, Giovanni / Entertainment and last of I did National. After researching hard about all our subjects we then grouped it together on a google slide. The google slides contain the report on the black caps vs West indies , Hawi robert the man who is famous for stealing in most country's , Phone emergency alert, business around the world and The aquarium challenge. Coin flips / wheel decides
This week me and Fau joined up with everyone in Mr Wongs Math group to see what the results were so we could get a better result. We first got in pairs and each person had to do 150 coin flips and 150 spins on wheel decide. After that was done we joined together to get the results and happened to get 48 percent of heads and 50 percent of tails with the coin. With the wheel decide fau got 50 percent with heads and 49 per cent with tails!!! The results for the whole class was 2160 flips and 2160 with wheel decide too! The results were close enough but still was good for the whole of our maths group!

L.I to learn a new skill
kiwi sport we learnt a new skill! We learnt how to weaken each other by making them run lots in badminton. Our skill was to hit the shuttle as far as we could at the enemy's free space or where they are not at. This was a really fun badminton session. But this is our 2nd or 3rd to last time going to kiwi sport which is a shame because this has been my favourite sport surprisingly! A big thanks to Kevin for helping us teach new things and our past teachers!

Survey test
This week Mr Wongs maths groups went around asking people what there favourite whole number from 1 - 20. This process took some time because we asked the WHOLE of ls1. This was a really fun yet a little difficult task as it took all of us some time or most of our space to go talk to others about what number they like the most from 1 - 20. Next we had to make a DLO and make a graph to express the work.

Fire station
This week LS1 went down to the fire station to learn about the water hoses, training area, fire trucks and tools. This was a special event as last week the police visited us. We learnt about the tools they have and there special suits that protect them from heat. Fire fighters have special tanks that they breathe in to protect there lungs. Fire fighters have lots of gear to get in houses, remove doors, get into houses and to let out fires. LS1 learnt heaps from this trip and I was surprised to find out there are only 4 workers and they work day and night. They also help with medical things and car crashes. They also help cut trees and get people free. New workers also train heaps to get better at there job and also workers who have been at the fire station for ages.

This game takes lots of people to run around then when the teacher called out one of the three we had to group up and do the following actions.

Graham Hill
Graham Hill helps us save us a bit more money and a bit more space. He persuades others to be more open and free. Campings tents, college rooms or hotels all make us feel a bit more free. He also believes that buying more decorations could be a waste as you're going to have to throw it out sooner or later. Instead you should have multiple things in one. For example a little coffee table that turns into a big dining table. A bed that comes out of the wall or a sink thats combined with a toilet. Also he helps others to save more money by persuading them to buy smaller homes.
Graham hill believes that less space equals more happiness and for us to be more free. He also thinks for us to think small, edit ruthlessly and make multifunctional. All this could save us more money.
Graham hill had wanted a bigger space in his childhood when he grew up years ago but thought what he wanted could be a waste.
Graham's speech could change our lives a bit more by saving money, feeling more free and less wasting. My favourite part in his speech was the ending because it didn’t really matter what was in the box anymore because remember less space more happiness
Less space, more happiness ~
Today I have made a poster on Graham Hill about how he has explained that Less space, more happiness. His speech is really inspiring and could help anyone anywhere any size or age... Well in my opinion. I have wrote what he has spoke about, what I like about it and whats interesting about it.

L.I to buddy up and hit the badminton shuttle to each other as many times in a row.
This week for Badminton there was not much people as half of the class was at touch. The badminton session was really fun as me and Sandra could control hitting to each other. Also we surprisingly had the most hits in a row! The session this week though was a bit shorter than expected and for others it was a bit hard for not only them but a little bit for us. This week with Kevin was very fun but we did want more time to play but no only us but others too.

Kiwi Can
Today at Kiwi Can we played a few games we have played in the past. One was to untangle our arms as we had to link our hand with someone elses. This was pretty hard to do and our group sadly lost. The next game was 10 down. The game goes by having three teams or more and trying to pass the ball and put it down to get a point. Sadly we lost again but the winning team was Jack and Julians team.

Today I have made a story with the story cubes its self. I first rolled the dices and got a boy but with the shadow of a monster,A monster sheep, A plane, A clock,A pyramid,a tent,a arrow pointing somewhere ,two masks and a wand. My story kind of goes like this. Two creatures living on a planet no man has discovered flew to planet earth and crashed in Egypt. They crashed right in front of a pyramid and set up there for the night. While exploring the inside they both found two mysterious masks and one wand made of pure gold. The rest is up to you!

Badminton
Badminton
It's a new term and our new special teacher for Kiwi sport was here at last. For the last term until the long holidays the school decided to have Badminton for Kiwi Sport. After group 1 had finished there lesson it was our turn to go.
We entered the hall to see our new teacher Kevin. Our teacher Kevin was surprisingly a professional Badminton player! Everyone was excited to learn and ready to play. Kevin explained a couple rules when playing Badminton. Rule one was never swing the rackets around,Rule 2 never use them like swords and three hit the shuttles carefully. For our warm up game it was stuck in the mud.
I was a bit disappointed although the game wasn’t that long. After about 4 or 5 minutes we stopped and Kevin instructed us to grab one racket and shuttle each. I felt excited but first Kevin taught us two ways to grip the racket. First off we had to use our writing hand to grip the racket and hold the racket like your going to shake someone's hand. Next we all had to use our back hand to hold it like a frying pan.
Although I wanted to start I had to learn first. My excitement was growing and we started to use our rackets and shuttles. Although I started struggling I still never gave up. Kevin then set up a competition for us and I got a bit curious. The surprise was to have a juggling competition with our rackets and shuttles. We all were determined to win although I failed both times I still cheered on the rest.
The battle stopped and the two winners were Julian and Jonathan. 3,2,1 GO Kevin called. The two went off juggling trying to win. Sadly Jonathan lost but that still didn’t let him down. The time passed and it was time to go.
I felt sad although I had a great time at Badminton today. We all came running back to our class and talking about the great time we had. This might be my new favourite Kiwi sport session this term!
This week for Writing we had another 40 minute writing challenge. This time we had to test if we did better at writing this time or not as good. I think I had a bit to much conjunctions in my paragraphs and a bit to little punctuation. My organisation was okay and I would say I got marked a 6 for that. I had a little bit of reflections but it did explain a lot. Next time I think I would work on having more ideas and less conjunctions.

Maori
L.I To find out where the Maori locations are and what the English name for it is.
This week for Maori We had to search up the Maori names listed on a sheet that our Maori teacher gave us. Although the task was hard I got used to it. After finding all of the locations we had to translate the Maori words to English. I had to work with two of my friends to get the work done faster but also easier and quicker. Another thing is to always focus because it was pretty loud while working. Our teacher taught us a lot this week and we hope to hear more about this.

L.I to learn Badminton
This week LS1 has gone to find out what we will be doing at Kiwi Sport today. Our teacher Kevin is a professional Badminton player and has been playing for a while now. After group ones session had past we first played stuck in the mud for a warm up game. The taggers was me and Mele. Although there was heaps of people we still manged to tag a lot of people. After a 5 or 4 minute game of stuck in the mud we Kevin had set a couple rules when playing with our rackets and shuttles. Rule one is to never hit people or swing them around,2 never use them as swords and three never hit someone with your shuttle. We were then set off to start juggling with our shuttles. After 3 or 4 minutes Kevin stopped us to learn some tricks. The under leg and around our back. I really enjoyed it although it was hard. Then it was time to test our real skills and start to have a juggling battle. The two winners had to compete against them. The winners were Jonathan and Julian. The winner was Julian but that still didn't let Jonathan down. It was time to go and we all had a amazing time and hope to go next week and for the rest of the term.
