This is my Christmas around the world work. What I was told was to pick 3 countries and write about how they celebrate Christmas but I also had to write about New Zealand.
I, too, loved your slide show. It was so interesting to read about Christmas traditions in Mexico, Lebanon and the Philippines.I am fascinated by different cultures and different customs. If you would like to know more about cultures and customs around the world please consider joining our Summer Learning Journey programme. The website is: https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/welcome
Once you log on, click on the 'Weekly Activities' tab and choose some Week 1 activities to complete. Once you've completed them you can blog about it and earn points. The students with the most points at the end of the summer earn prizes!
I think that you would be a great asset to the programme and would love it you chose to get involved.
I'll check your site again later in the week to see if you're decided to join the journey.
In the meantime, I hope that you have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.
It's Rachel and I am sending you this message as a friendly reminder that the summer blogging project (Summer Learning Journey) is currently underway. It is a great way for you to practice your reading and your writing.
The programme has been running for two weeks and is about to head into the final week (Week 3). There are over 20 fun activities in the programme and you can complete as many as you wish. Each activity is worth points and the points will be added up at the end of the summer. Students with the most points will win prizes. All participants will also earn a badge and a certificate.
I will be checking your blog spot every day up to and including Tuesday 26 January (the last day of the blogging programme) to see if you have participated.
If you would like to join the programme and receive lots of comments and feedback, please log onto the Summer Learning Journey website: https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/home-1, register and then click on the 'Weekly Activities' tab. You will likely want to start with 'Week 1.' During week 1 you will be invited to choose a country to travel to, buy an airline ticket, watch the All Blacks perform a cool safety video, pack your suitcase, and review a good book for the airplane ride!
A number of students from your school are currently participating in the programme and we're all having a great time. If you'd like to be one of them, please log on and blog today!
I really enjoyed your slideshow! It had alot of information about Christmas in those 4 different countries. It was detailed and sufficient in understanding. In Malaysia, we do have Christmas but there aren't any snow here. It's only hot in Malaysia. I hope you do the best in your school and studies and good luck!
This is a perfect slide show! After reading your slide show, I learnt a lot of new things, thankyou. I never know in Mexico they do celebrate Christmas that fast! Still, thankyou very much, thanks to you, I had learnt so many different culture's traditional and stuff. In my country, Malaysia, our country do not snow when it's Christmas, but we still celebrate it. I hope you have a great year, and wish you all the best in school!
Hi Nyjah. I loved your slide show! It was so interesting and I learnt a lot about different countries and their traditions. Suzanne
