Story cubes
Today I have made a story with the story cubes its self. I first rolled the dices and got a boy but with the shadow of a monster,A monster sheep, A plane, A clock,A pyramid,a tent,a arrow pointing somewhere ,two masks and a wand. My story kind of goes like this. Two creatures living on a planet no man has discovered flew to planet earth and crashed in Egypt. They crashed right in front of a pyramid and set up there for the night. While exploring the inside they both found two mysterious masks and one wand made of pure gold. The rest is up to you!

Badminton
Badminton
It's a new term and our new special teacher for Kiwi sport was here at last. For the last term until the long holidays the school decided to have Badminton for Kiwi Sport. After group 1 had finished there lesson it was our turn to go.
We entered the hall to see our new teacher Kevin. Our teacher Kevin was surprisingly a professional Badminton player! Everyone was excited to learn and ready to play. Kevin explained a couple rules when playing Badminton. Rule one was never swing the rackets around,Rule 2 never use them like swords and three hit the shuttles carefully. For our warm up game it was stuck in the mud.
I was a bit disappointed although the game wasn’t that long. After about 4 or 5 minutes we stopped and Kevin instructed us to grab one racket and shuttle each. I felt excited but first Kevin taught us two ways to grip the racket. First off we had to use our writing hand to grip the racket and hold the racket like your going to shake someone's hand. Next we all had to use our back hand to hold it like a frying pan.
Although I wanted to start I had to learn first. My excitement was growing and we started to use our rackets and shuttles. Although I started struggling I still never gave up. Kevin then set up a competition for us and I got a bit curious. The surprise was to have a juggling competition with our rackets and shuttles. We all were determined to win although I failed both times I still cheered on the rest.
The battle stopped and the two winners were Julian and Jonathan. 3,2,1 GO Kevin called. The two went off juggling trying to win. Sadly Jonathan lost but that still didn’t let him down. The time passed and it was time to go.
I felt sad although I had a great time at Badminton today. We all came running back to our class and talking about the great time we had. This might be my new favourite Kiwi sport session this term!
This week for Writing we had another 40 minute writing challenge. This time we had to test if we did better at writing this time or not as good. I think I had a bit to much conjunctions in my paragraphs and a bit to little punctuation. My organisation was okay and I would say I got marked a 6 for that. I had a little bit of reflections but it did explain a lot. Next time I think I would work on having more ideas and less conjunctions.

Maori
L.I To find out where the Maori locations are and what the English name for it is.
This week for Maori We had to search up the Maori names listed on a sheet that our Maori teacher gave us. Although the task was hard I got used to it. After finding all of the locations we had to translate the Maori words to English. I had to work with two of my friends to get the work done faster but also easier and quicker. Another thing is to always focus because it was pretty loud while working. Our teacher taught us a lot this week and we hope to hear more about this.

L.I to learn Badminton
This week LS1 has gone to find out what we will be doing at Kiwi Sport today. Our teacher Kevin is a professional Badminton player and has been playing for a while now. After group ones session had past we first played stuck in the mud for a warm up game. The taggers was me and Mele. Although there was heaps of people we still manged to tag a lot of people. After a 5 or 4 minute game of stuck in the mud we Kevin had set a couple rules when playing with our rackets and shuttles. Rule one is to never hit people or swing them around,2 never use them as swords and three never hit someone with your shuttle. We were then set off to start juggling with our shuttles. After 3 or 4 minutes Kevin stopped us to learn some tricks. The under leg and around our back. I really enjoyed it although it was hard. Then it was time to test our real skills and start to have a juggling battle. The two winners had to compete against them. The winners were Jonathan and Julian. The winner was Julian but that still didn't let Jonathan down. It was time to go and we all had a amazing time and hope to go next week and for the rest of the term.

School production
Our School Production.
Last term the whole school had a special lady come in to teach us dance for our school’s 60th anniversary. Our special guest was a professional dancer called Zoey. It was a special event for PBS and a great celebration for our school's 60th anniversary. Our class divided into six groups and was sent off to practice at the hall.
We arrived and the first group to learn was the Gangnam Style group. At first they were a bit off with the music but when they kept practising they got more in time. The next 5 groups were Single ladies,Party Rockin,Whip nae nae,Dougie and Harlem Shake. My group the Whip and Nae Nae also needed to be in time with the music and in sync with each other.
After a long time of practice we started practicing on the stage. We got organised in our places and when going on stage and off. When our teachers were impressed with the way we were in sync and in time with the music we added a extra bit for our ending. We did the Harlem Shake,Mexican wave,Punches,Harlem Shake and we then all fall down.
The nights of our productions were coming and our whole school had a practice together. The practice went really well and the next day before the night we had a dress rehearsal. Everyone looked great in there costumes and we were all nervous for the real productions.
The next day it was time to show off our productions. School finished and we went home and ready to have our first production. At 6:00 we all arrived at school and got changed into our clothes as fast as we could and ran to the hall.
The production went really well and most people from school was their too. The whole hall was packed with people and we all were scared. After the show it was time for the last night of the production tomorrow. This was our last production and we have to make it as perfect as possible. The last production was packed again but everyone's dance were in time and was even better than the last production. On our last show the crowd went wild and PBS was really proud on how much they learnt and how much they enjoyed there time for our school’s 60th anniversary.
Today I published my recount on our 60th school production. Out of all songs my favorite was staying alive and preformed by LS2. Our group members checked our work and marked them and then I had to mark mine by my self.

Community Roles.
L.I to list our Inner,Middle and Outer community roles.
For our inquiry lesson I made a slide of my Inner,Middle and Outer Community. My Inner circle is made up of my family because they made me how I am now and who take of me most of my life. My middle circle is made up of people who helped me through most but not all times or people I see most but not as much as my family. Last of all my Outer is made up of people who I see sometimes and people who have jobs that help us follow the law or help us or me out when hurt or stuck.

LS2 Holiday reading challenge, DAY4
For my first time on day 4 I found out three interesting facts. These facts were found on this site : Anzac Soldier facts. I really enjoyed this activity because I found these facts very interesting and cool!
Austro Hungary wanted war on Serbia that was stood up by Germany. The Russians wanted war on Austro Hungary then supported by France. I find this very interesting because these country's had support by other country's which surprises me because not many country's get support by others.
The young solider was in a war but was not prepared to fight at all! Then the boats came to pick them up but the Australians were already back to there landing but the bunch of soldiers arriving back was being attacked on the boat! Surprisingly all the soldiers made it back alive. I find this interesting as they all made it back and I have not heard soldiers being attacked going back home on a boat.
When the solders arrived to war there enemy's were just rushing towards them already when getting off the boats and the soldiers weren't ready at all. I find this interesting because its not most likely enemy would just rush towards a boat full of solders to attack. I thought the enemy's would be hiding ready to fire and attack at surprising times.

LS2 Holiday reading challenge,
The ride from Rainbows end called the stratosphere you may have heard has a height restriction ! There are two types of rides. Less and extreme. I have been on this ride but on less because I was only 6 and I was pretty short. but the extreme version rides 360 degrees to swing and the less version is about 45 degrees. If you want to go on the stratosphere then you must be 150 cm.
